I agree with you that man can run on his self interest, but God did not intend man to be so wrapped up in himself. God expects us to first and foremost, be wrapped up in him. To live our lives for his glory and to cast away the things in life that detract from that goal. It is very easy for people to get wrapped up in themselves. America is the "EGO" nation. We believe everyone has absolute freedom to do what they wish and we do anything we can to further our image as a person. But, what does that get you in the long run? I'd argue not much. If you're living for yourself, you can't live for others. Christ is the ultimate example of this. A man who every moment in his life, lived for others. He suffered and died for all of mankind. Maybe we all need to do a little suffering? We're all so protected and babied these days. Maybe we need to forget about ourselves and our interets for two seconds and think about the wellbeing of someone else? Humanity suffers all around us, but we turn a blind eye to it all.

I believe if you truly want to connect with your satellite, you need to spend time to foster that relationship. God has a plan for everyone's life. But it is up to us if we choose to follow it. And until we ask him to guide us and turn over our lives to his will, he will never guide you. There is no sense guiding a person who won't ask for directions and then ignores them when they're given.

Just a thought.
